Positioning Objects

Position on Build Plate

Positioning on the Build Plate

Objects must sit flat on the build plate (Y = 0)!

Task

  1. Add a Cylinder to the scene
  2. Use the Move tool (W) to position it
  3. Ensure the bottom of the cylinder touches the grid (Y = 0)
  4. Check the Print Readiness panel - it should show ✅ Ready

Common Mistakes

  • ❌ Floating objects (Y > 0) - will fail to print!
  • ❌ Objects below grid (Y < 0) - bottom gets cut off
  • ✅ Flat on grid (Y = 0) - perfect!
The grid represents the build plate surface.
