Optimize Object Orientation

Optimizing for Minimal Supports

The way you orient a model matters!

Task

  1. Create at least 2 objects (try a box and a cone)
  2. Position both on the build plate
  3. Orient them for minimal supports needed

Design Tips

  • Flat surfaces go DOWN on the build plate
  • Pointed features go UP
  • Rotate models to eliminate overhangs

Example

A cone printed:

  • ❌ Tip down = needs lots of support

  • ✅ Tip up = no supports needed!

Check the Print Readiness panel for all objects.
